On-Site Supervisor for Kalona Before and After School Program
We are in search of an on-site supervisor for a new program starting in August 2017. This position will assist in the successful operation of the Kalona Before and After School Program which will be held at Mid-Prairie East Elementary School (formerly Kalona Elementary). The ideal person will be able to nurture children through purposeful programming dedicated to building achievement and a sense of belonging in youth. They will also be able to foster positive relationships between youth and have the ability to relate well with families of various backgrounds. This person will ensure high quality programs and establish new program activities.

Requirements for this position:

1. Must be at least 18 years old.

2. One to two years of related experience.

3. CPR, First Aid and AED certification, Mandatory Reporter and Universal Precautions training within 30 days of hire.

4. Fulfillment of state-specific hiring standards.

5. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

6. Understands the YMCA is a public accommodation committed to inclusion and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Working environment and physical demand considerations:

1. Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to safely supervise children’s activities.

2. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Required Hours

1. Must be available on regular school days 6 am - 8 am and/or 3 pm - 6 pm AND Early Out days from 1 pm - 6 pm.

2. Also, must be available for any portion of the hours 6 am - 6 pm for no school and inclement weather days.

***Additional hours MAY be available through one of the YMCA of Washington County branch locations. To be determined based on need and availability.***

SWIM LESSONS INSTRUCTOR 

Do you like to have fun at work? Can you laugh, smile and play for hours at a time? Do you want to leave a lasting impression on children’s lives?    Why not have fun teaching SWIMMING LESSONS and WATER SAFETY?

Washington Community YMCA is seeking enthusiastic and engaging talent to be part of our growing team in our YMCA Main Street Facility. 

Although we teach swimming to all ages and abilities, the majority of our   students are pre-school and elementary-aged children. The ability to work with young children and their parents is the #1 priority. 

Schedules are flexible around weekday mornings, afternoons and/or evenings, and Saturday mornings.

 SUMMER POOL LIFEGUARDS

Child Care Staff Needed!

The Cornelia S. Day Child Care Center is in need of energetic, dependable and caring individuals to work in our center. Two positions are available.

School Age Caregiver: Hours are 3:00pm-6:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Center Staff: Center operates 5:30am-6:00pm, Monday through Friday. Hours of position to be determined at a later date.


Applicant must be 18 years of age or older to apply. Previous experience is helpful but not required. Duties include providing direction and supervision, implementing curriculum, and providing a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on the YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring.
